Ein Windows-Tool zum Flashen einer Dreambox DM600PVR zu Verwenden ist klarer Stilbruch. Via TFTP wäre es vertretbar aber umständlich. Das geht viel einfacher wenn man die Dreambox übers LAN erreicht:

telnet $IP_OF_DREAMBOX
mount -o remount,rw /boot
rm /boot/*
reboot

Im Browser dann auf $IP_OF_DREAMBOX gehen und über den Punkt Firmware-Upgrade das gewünschte nfi-Image hochladen und wenn das abgeschlossen ist neu [...]

Wie schon einmal gebloggt habe ich mir ja vor Kurzem das LG X110 Netbook gekauft. Was ich bisher feststellen kann:

die FUTJISTU-Festplatte ist mir bei intensiver Beanspruchung eine Spur zu laut (es wird Zeit für interessantere Preise bei den SSDs )
die Lüfterlautstärke ist OK (ich bin da ziemlich sensibel)
die Akkulaufzeit ist mit ~2:00-2:30h schlechter als [...]

Rund 3 Monate hab ich meinen Palm TX jetzt. Als bisheriges Fazit kann ich sagen, dass ich damit im Großen und Ganzen bisher durchaus zufrieden bin. Ein großes Danke an Karl für die vielen Tipps und Hinweise.

Für den Palm wollte ich eine halbwegs flotte und große SD-Karte einsetzen. Eine Kingston 8GB SDHC-Karte mit einer (von mir getesteten) Schreibrate von 9,85 MByte/s und einer Leserate von 14,5 MByte/s sollten es werden.
Ärgerlich: der Palm TX unterstützt zwar SD-Karten, aber keine SDHC (high capacity). Die API von Palm ist leider dazu auch noch generell [...]

So, ich hab jetzt auch wieder einen PDA. Ich war vor einigen Jahren mal Besitzer eines Psion Revo. Synchronisation war damals für Randgruppe^WLinux so gut wie nicht vorhanden, der flüchtige Speicher hat mich in Kombination mit einem immer schlechter werdendem Akku genervt. Irgendwann ist der Revo dann einfach nur mehr in der Ecke liegen geblieben.

Update: just noticed that the power button is the USB part of the device. So just plug in the USB part into the presenter device will turn the device off. Tricky but nice.
