Setting up lm-sensors on my P4-system (Intel Corp. 82875P) really sucks. Now I tried xmbmon and what should I say? Yes, it works! It works out of box (./configure && make) on my workstation and on my laptop, very nice :) My laptop (fan-rotation does not work): [mika@tweety: ~]% mbmon Temp.= 22.9, 22.9, 27.3; Rot.= […]

Ok, today I had some minutes for grmling. I made some details for design-goals of grml and requirements for it. Currently our biggest problem is which installation-system we should use, Anaconda is at least our favourite.

Jepp – 2.6.0 stable is available. I installed it on my laptop, seems to work at least as fine as 2.6.0-test11 ;) – I will check out some more details (special-keys, cdrom-burning,…) in my christmas-holidays.

I activated linux-2.6.0-test11 on my laptop. It runs quite fast and stable, together with cpudyn Power-Management works much better than with 2.4-kernels.

Thomas Winkler found out that there exists a cisco-vpn-client which should work with linux 2.6.0-kernels. I test it on my laptop and – it works! So I also activate the 2.6.0-test9 also on my workstation/server – but my mouse doesn’t work then as it should – damn! $ uname -a Linux tweety 2.6.0-test9 #3 Sun […]

I have to set up a firewall (bridged network – transparent firewall). I am using a Debian-based distribution from Austria (no, not where the kangaroos live ;)) called Gibraltar. Main documentation can be found in the mailinglist-archiv, Rene Mayrhofer from Gibraltar writes really nice and helpfull stuff. Gibraltar is really a great piece of Software! […]

Someone in the TU-Graz-Newsgroups mentioned isync, a tool for synchronizing a remote IMAP mailbox with a local maildir-style mailbox. I should check this out because my mailsetup is IMAP and maildir ;).
