dpkg sucks

$ apt-get install libstdc++2.10-glibc2.2
Reading Package Lists... Error!
E: Unable to parse package file /var/lib/dpkg/status (1)
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

WTF? I did nothing since last time I used apt-get. Oh, not true. I updated grml-scripts and grml-etc. Let’s take a look at /var/lib/dpkg/status. Ah, 567 files marked as configfiles in grml-etc. Let’s remove some lines for fun, :wq and run apt-get again. Works. *d’oh*

    also.
    hast du mit apt-pinning herumgespielt?
    versuch mal die cache größe in apt.conf zu verändern.

    Mit apt-pinning hat es nichts zu tun, an der Cache-Größe liegt es auch nicht – soeben probiert, gleiches Problem. Einfach ein paar Einträge aus den Conffiles nehmen und es geht wieder. grml…
