Simpsons suck…
Fans of the Simpsons might have noticed already that Season 4 DVD-Collection (amazon.de) is available.
But I have to rant: the epsiode running on PRO7 in the afternoon today was bad, really bad. It was ‘The Regina Monologues (#EABF17 / SI-1417)’ of season fifteen and the episode was pure nonsense. Nothing compared to the funny episodes of earlies seasons. damn..

I totally absolutely agree. The only thing that was a little bit funny was when Bart and Lisa were high on sugar and Maggy was crawling on the ceiling, turning around her head.

Too bad I didn’t see the episode today ;-) because I was at Saturn in the hope to buy the season 4 DVD. But they still don’t have it (was also there yesterday; yeah I really want it!). I was for sure not the first to ask when they get it if I correctly interpreted the face of the employee I asked ;-)

Yeah, Saturday’s episode was crap but so were many of the episodes in season 13 und 14. Season 15 IMHO represents a slight improvement, the better episodes are still to come. BTW, Bart and Lisa on their sugar trip was a reference to “Trainspotting”, I suppose.

I suspect that The Regina Monologues is only really funny once you know the play that the title is a pun on, The Vagina Monologues by Eve Ensler. Without context, a lot of deeply hilarious stuff is not funny – imagine watching movie spoof comedies like Hot Shots if you haven’t seen a single popular movie.

Hm… was that the one where the Simpsons go to England? It wasn’t particularly funny… but not one of the worst. Mind you, watching it in German is not a good choice for any comedy show… and for this episode it is particularly bad, as there were loads of puns and jokes that you can only catch in English (for instance: when they have to drag Madonna out of England, Madonna talks with an extremely bad british accent,…). Generally… I think the Simpsons are on lifesupport and someone should pull the plug… of course, this would mean killing the goose that lays golden eggs, which is something the managers frown upon. Southpark and Family Guy (which Fox moronically cancelled after 3 seasons… but is supposed to bring back, as I hear) are the heirs of the Simpsons in terms of humour. Although… Simpson Season 15 had one or the other actually good episode…
