Netzwerkkarten in einem Studentenheim
Ich habe arpwatch seit dem 17. April 2003 auf meinem Gateway im Studentenheim im VCG laufen lassen. Aus den daraus gewonnenen Daten, die ich per Mail zugestellt bekommen habe, wollte ich einmal eine Statistik der NIC-Hersteller (Feld “ethernet vendor”) generieren. Was daraus geworden ist, kann man in folgender Tabelle sehen. Anmerkung: wo es sinnvoll ist, habe ich Hersteller zusammengefasst. Es gibt aber auch Hersteller an mehreren Stellen stehend, dort wollte ich die Statistik wegen eindeutigen IDs nicht fälschen.

Interessanter wären ja wirkliche Chipset-Herstellerdaten – ich bin mir zB ziemlich sicher, dass die ganzen Acer-Teile eigentlich Realtek-Chips oder was auch immer momentan grade das Billigste ist verwenden.

@Thomas: FullACK. Ich hätte mir sowohl viel mehr Realtek- als auch Intel-Anteile erwartet. Da scheint auch einiges hinter “unknown” maskiert zu sein. Bei meinen nächsten EDV-Besuchen werde ich auf alle Fälle genauer auf die verbaute Hardware achten.
