"With a PC, I always felt limited by the software available. On Unix,
I am limited only by my knowledge."
-- Peter J. Schoenster
GnuPG
GnuPG is a complete and free replacement for PGP. Because it does not use the
patented IDEA algorithm, it can be used without any restrictions. GnuPG is a RFC2440
(OpenPGP) compliant application. -- citation of
GnuPG.org
GnuPG is free software and
works together with the mailclient mutt very well. I sign all my
mails and if I have the key of my communication-partners I also encrypt
them This encourages my privacy and because of great integration of GnuPG into
mutt the effort is minimal.
oKle
Martin Piskernig wrote for the
OpenSource DVD-Player ogle a
graphical frontend. This KDE-frontend is namend oKle. oKle is very userfriendly and is
developed active.
